JStew & Cori’s Weekly Web Wonder: When Mashups Go Off The Rails

Videos to kill time at work on a Friday........

Earlier in the week, before Cori took a couple days off, we were sending each other stupid videos, as we often do. We were doing the morning music matchup earlier in the week, and Black Sabbath was one of the competitors. I got telling her about this band I saw online called Mac Sabbath.

If you've never heard of them, Mac Sabbath is a MacDonald's themed Sabbath tribute band. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. They basically dress up as characters from MacD's, such as Ronald, Grimace, Hamburglar, and the Cheeseburger Cop...whatever his name is, and they play re-works of Sabbath tunes.

For instance, the song "Iron Man" is renamed "Frying Pan" or "Sweet Beef".... you get the idea. They're surprisingly talented at what they do. Check them out...

Then this all led to further discussion about a band I used to love called Beatallica. I saw them live about ten years ago, and it was incredible. So these guys basically do songs that are half Beatles, half Metallica, and somehow in the style of both bands. Their song titles are total mashups as well, it's nuts.

For instance, they have titles like "She's Got A Ticket To Ride The Lightning" or "...And Justice For All My Lovin"... again, you get the idea. It was easily one of the best live shows I've ever been to. Check them out too....

These videos will be enough to send you and the person in the cubie next to you into fits of laughter, guaranteed to attract the attention of your jerk of a boss. So definitely have an extra tab or two open so you can go to a baby goat video or something real quick. Nobody argues with those....
