Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend headed to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Age Of Adaline’. This is a fantasy, drama, romance running just a little under two hours and is rated PG- for a suggestive comment.  The movie stars Blake Lively, Harrison Ford, Michiel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn, Amanda Crew.

Summary:

Age of Adaline is about a woman who after a freak group of random circumstances is molecularly changed so she will never physically age. Fearing that government and society with turn her into a freak or a science experiment she goes into hiding but finds a life without long term connections tiring and pointless. Just as she is about to run again she falls in love and her secret is discovered.

Review:

This was an interesting tale spun on the idea of a science that is yet to be discovered. Blake Lively does a fairly good job portraying wisdom beyond her years and there are understandable issues that come up with immortality, though not new. Her chemistry with daughter Flemming (Ellen Burstyn) was wonderful. Her suiter Ellis Jones (Michiel Huismen) slightly less so and a little too good to be true in standard romantic movie form.    All in all it held you attention but did seem to drag in a few spots. So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Age of Adaline’ a 7.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
