Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I grabbed my super-hero cape and headed to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. This is an action, adventure, sci-fi movie that runs  just under two  and a half hours. This film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence and destruction, and for some suggestive comments and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo.

Summary:

In this latest installment of the Avengers things are getting tough on earth and people are dying despite the Avengers best efforts. So in an effort to protect the planet and everyone on it from forces unknown form other galaxies Tony Stark and Bruce Banner without the others knowledge use an alien super computer to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it's up to the Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from saving the planet by ridding it of humans.

Review:

I have seen all the single and combined Marvel movies to date and there are some things I love and some I don’t. I love their use of humor in so many instances.  It reminds me of Bugs Bunny and how there was always a humor in it for the adults in the room tucked in around all the other action. What I didn’t like as much about this film was the overlong crashing, blow it up, battle scenes.  Not that they weren’t good they just went on too long and I don’t think making this movie 2 hours and 20 minutes was necessarily a good plan. Seriously, in some of the longer sequences I was struggling to stay interested. Other than that the story is fine and true to itself.  So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ a 7.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
