Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend put on my nerdy glasses and went to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Big Hero 6’.

This movie runs about an 1 hour and 45 minutes, is an animated, action, comedy and is rated PG for action and peril, some rude humor, and thematic elements. The film stars the voices of: Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Jamie Chung, Genesis Rodriguez, T.J. Miller

Summary:

A young boy, Hiro Hamada, and his older brother live with their aunt in a San Francisco, Tokoyo hybrid called San Fransokyo.  Both boys are robotics geniuses.  After the death of his brother, a special bond that develops between he and his brother’s plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, invented and programed to be a personal nurse. The two then team up with a group of Hiro’s friends from the technical university and form a band of high-tech heroes, their goal, to stop a mad man who has been destroying things using Hiro’s stolen technology. They also believe that he may be responsible for his brother’s death.

Review:

If there is one thing you can say about Disney, they seldom miss with their animation.  The story is engaging, the characters very likable and the robot ‘Baymax’ funny and endearing. This movie plays well to both you and the kids with just enough adult humor to keep everyone happy.  So this is a take the kids and on a scale of 1-10, Monster Inc being a 10 ‘big Hero 6’ is a 10 also.
