Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'Self/Less'

This is a mystery, Sci-fi, thriller movie that runs just two hours. The film is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence, some sexuality and language and stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Goode, Victor Garber

Summary:

In 'Self/Less' a New York real estate billionaire Damien Hill (Ben Kingsley) is dying when he find a company that claims to build young healthy bodies in laboratories they can transfer his consciousness into so he may live on. He decides to go ahead with the procedure and the transfer to his new body (Ryan Reynolds) is successful and all seems well until there are stipulations and setbacks with his new life he was not expecting.

Review:

This is not a new idea in the realm of Sci-fi and I thought they handled it competently. As in all movies of this type you have to roll with the scientific flow so be prepared.  I thought that both Reynolds and Kingsley did a great job and overall the story moved well and was consistent but maybe a tad predictable. I found this show suitable for entertainment and good for two hours in air-conditioning on a hot day. On a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Self/Less’ a 7.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
