Birch has long, soft, tabby fur and some of her toes are white. Birch hasn’t been at the shelter very long, and she’s hoping that she won’t have to be. It can be hard for a cat to find the right person, though - so many walk past adult cats like Birch and head straight for the kittens. We think they don’t even realize what a great cat they’re passing up!

Birch is about three years old. In addition to being beautiful, she has a personality all her own. She loves loafing around and would make an excellent couch minder. She’ll definitely keep that couch under control, don’t you worry!

So far, Birch seems to prefer not to have cat friends. We’re not sure whether she’d be willing to negotiate with another cat for the right home, or if she just wants to be an only cat. Come in for a visit to see if she might be the right couch minder for your home!

Call the shelter at (207) 667-8088 to schedule a meeting with Birch , or just drop by!

Don't forget to the Hancock County SPCA Coloring for the Dogs, the photo contest fundraiser ! It's ongoing until May 1st. Entering is free and voting is $1 per vote.
