Heavy Rain & Wind Sunday Night From Bangor Throughout Downeast
Secure your property, especially along the Downeast coast this Sunday night, as it's going to get wild.
The National Weather Service has posted a High Wind Warning for both Hancock and Washington County that's expected to remain in effect through this Sunday night and into Monday morning. Winds will be out of the south at 25 to 35 mph, and some gusts could hit 50 mph.
It will also get wet.
With the wind and rain comes the chance of power outages as trees and limbs will be under stress and could come down. Remember to never touch or drive over a downed power line, as you could be electrocuted and die.
Temperatures will rise in both the Bangor and the Downeast areas to about 50 degrees by 4 a.m. Monday. As the system passes the area Monday, it should eventually turn out to be a mostly sunny day with a high temp of 48.
While eastern Maine experiences a rain and wind storm, northern Maine could get up to a half-a-foot of snow.
