You know since I was a kid weathermen and women have always loved yelling "Run for the hills" when ever there is a storm on the horizon.  Now thanks to science, radar and other scientific data collecting measures they can really scare the snot out of us by threatening the entire east coast and especially New England with what is called a "meteorological bomb"

So if you are thinking what the *! is a meteorological bomb? I can tell you this much, it isn't good. The video above give a short and to the point explanation of the phenomenon..

Dictionary give this definition:

type of extratropical cyclone characterized by a low pressure system in which the central barometric pressure drops at least 24 millibars in 24 hours, which can produce hurricane-force winds with very heavy rainfall or snow.

I love the Mashable description who says that along with the winds and snow fall we'll experience it will be followed by a "Stupid-level of cold" I'm sure that is the scientific term.
