Broadway Dairy Queen Set To Open This Week In Bangor

Folks in Bangor will soon be able to scratch their Dairy Queen itch, once again, as the shop on Broadway gets ready to open for its 2024 season.

Unlike the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill on Stillwater Ave in Old Town, which remains open all year long, the Broadway DQ, which is located at 668, right across from the Broadway shopping center, typically shuts down for a couple of months from the end of December and tends to reopen sometime in February.

According to their sign, the date DQ lovers in the area have been waiting for is fast approaching. The store is set to start selling frozen snack once again come Thursday February 8th!

Part of what they used their down time for this past break was to do some renovations to their countertops and spruce up the lobby area, according to a post put up on their social media site just before Christmas.

Historically, traffic on Broadway the day the Dairy Queen reopens for Spring can tend to get a little much, with people lining up all along that middle turning lane, waiting for their chance to get into the drive-thru line. So, take note, if you have some place to be along that route on Thursday, you might want to avoid that area for the day. But if you're looking to score yourself a sweet cone or blizzard from the ice cream spot this week, be prepared to be patient...but the pay-off will be worth it.
