Here's a quick story about our two SPCA Of Hancock County Pets Of The Week, and we're hopeful that it will soon have a happy ending.

There were two canine sisters who came walking down the street. Their names were Layla and Jemma, and they looked so fine trotting through the snow side by side.

Layla said to Jemma, “Do you think anyone will see how cute I am carrying this toy, and want to adopt us?” and Jemma said to Layla, “Do you think anyone will see how wiggly and joyful I am, and want to adopt us?”

The sisters looked at each other, and thought about these serious questions. “Oh well! It’s snowing - let’s go in the yard and play!” they said together, and skipped into the yard.

Although they don’t let it get them down, Layla and Jemma have been looking for a new home since September. Layla is an 8 year old Shepherd mix and Jemma is a 5 year old Staffordshire terrier mix. They are willing to meet other dogs, and are looking for a family with children 10 or older.
