Out With The Old, In With The New; 2 Big Renovations In Bangor

A lot of work has been done in the area of Hogan Rd, and the mall in Bangor in the last few months. At least 2 major overhauls are taking place, just down the road from one another.

The first overhaul is located right in front of the Renys shop off Springer Drive.

The old shuttered Burger King location, which consisted of a graffitied old building along Springer Drive and Hogan Road for years, closed its doors in 2020 and was demolished this past January.

Since then, work to redevelop the land and build a new Verizon retail shop in its place has been underway.

Approval for the new 3150-square-foot retail store came from the Bangor City Council in November last year.

This past month, the exterior framing of the new structure has been put into place.

There's no word yet on when either project will be completed, but it's encouraging to see the improvements being made, with the hopes of invigorating those two stagnant areas of the city.
