Winter can be challenging for many Mainers, and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office wants to ensure that people in Penobscot County who could use assistance with getting the basics like food, water, clothing, and shelter, get the help they need.

Food, clothing, healthcare products, and shelter are essential components of these needs. Our office will continue this mission throughout the fall and winter seasons, but we cannot succeed without the help of our community."

Penobscot County Sheriff Troy Morton says the department is putting together a Basic Needs Drive so they can put some Secret Santa bags together for those in need. They are accepting donations from businesses and individuals who want to help in their efforts.
