The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department Has A New App

If you live in Penobscot County, there is now a new tool to keep you up-to-date and in-the-know about things going on in the area that might affect your safety.

According to a post put out by the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office on Facebook this week:

"The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the release of our new Mobile App and updated website. Both platforms will greatly improve the means in which we share information with the citizens we serve."

An informational video attached to the post explained, in greater detail, just how handy this new app could be for folks.

Along with providing users with emergency alerts and updates on important events that could impact their neck of the woods, the new App, which you can download for free from the Apple App Store or Google play, simply by searching "Penobscot County Sheriff's Office", has a couple of interesting search features as well.

"The app is designed to keep residents and families within Penobscot County safe, by providing the latest in updates and information from the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office...The app greets users with a streamlined Main Menu, to allow for seamless navigation of the app's many features...Some of those features include social media feeds, an inmate search, and the ability to submit a tip."

The app also offers quick links to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Corrections, Civil, Records and Law Enforcement Divisions. And there's also a section for "Compliments and Complaints", "News & Press Releases", and a link to the Maine and Penobscot County Sex Offenders Registry.
